| A significant advancement in tunnel profiling technology, the Robot Mapping System has the ability to measure surface roughness, roadbed quality and ground support quality. Controlled with a hand held wireless remote, the robot accurately maps tunnels and terrains, transferring the data collected into popular engineering CAD systems. The information collected provides an accurate location through a specialized military grade inertial referencing system (IRS). The IRS component is linked to multiple laser scanners supplying high precision tunnel profiling while being driven forward. Laser profiling collects hundreds of data points per second linked to an accurate tunnel position through the IRS. All data is collected to onboard computer hard drives and transferred to the engineering office via memory storage systems or directly by wireless networks. Robotic Mapping Applications include but are not limited to:

These units are capable of autonomous and/or tele-autonomous operations when used in collaboration with a Penguin ASI Teleoperation Control Station. Equipped with proprietary Can Open electronics capable of interfacing to common protocols and devices, these units are innovative and multi-functional. There are two units developed, one battery powered capable of up to 8-12 hours of operation and another hydrogen fuel cell powered. Both versions have a four degree of freedom robot arm able to dig and lift payloads. These units also contain two wide angled, low latency cameras for data gathering and tele-autonomous control. |
